Building the invisible logic behind everyday software.

I work across Android OS, consumer hardware, and AI-native experiences, shaping system-level products that connect user needs with hardware and software capabilities. From Lock Screen and Quick Settings to notifications and Glyph, I turn complex systems into clear, reliable, and distinctly useful everyday interactions.

Building products that turn complexity into clarity

James Liao

Product Manager

I love turning complex product ideas into experiences people can actually use. What started as a curiosity about how software shapes daily life became my career when I discovered how product thinking can make technology feel clearer, simpler, and more useful.

I focus on system-level experiences that serve a real purpose — not just adding features, but making the whole interaction feel more natural. Whether I’m working on Android OS, consumer hardware, notifications, Lock Screen, Quick Settings, or AI-native experiences, my goal is to connect user needs with technical possibilities in a way that feels effortless.

I care a lot about the invisible details: the logic behind an interaction, the timing of a prompt, the hierarchy of information, and whether a feature still feels reliable after repeated use. To me, that’s what makes good software great — not only what users see, but what quietly helps everything work better.
